Duo Béla Kovacs

Composed of clarinetist Irene Ces and pianist and conductor Manuel Tévar, the duo stands out as one of the most innovative and promising acts on today’s musical scene. The duo's name is inspired by the Hungarian composer Béla Kovács, renowned for his clarinet compositions, reflecting the group's particular focus on contemporary and chamber music. They made their debut as a duo in 2023; since then, they have graced prestigious stages and completed tours in Germany and the United States.

Clarinetist and one of the most prominent emerging talents of her generation, she has performed in prestigious venues such as the Auditorio Nacional, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Teatro Monumental, the Teatri del Canal, the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia, and the ADDA in Alicante, among others. Highly active in the field of chamber music and committed to the dissemination of contemporary music—in which she specializes—her interpretations are recognized for their refined technique and extreme sensitivity, achieving a very distinctive sound on the clarinet. She plays an exclusive Buffet Tosca Mopane model.

Manuel Tévar

SPAIN

Conductor, pianist, and composer, he is a recipient of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando Prize—making him the only musician, alongside Manuel de Falla, to receive this honor—and First Prize at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York. Recognized for his international career, Tévar has established himself as one of the most important Spanish musicians of his generation. He has conducted, among others, the I Musicisti della Scala in Milan, the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the CRR Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, the Sicilian Polyphonic Camerata, the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, and the United Nations Youth Ensemble. Following his debut at the Berlin Philharmonie, he has conducted in Asia and the Americas, as well as at Prague’s Smetana Hall and Milan’s Sala Verdi, working with ensembles such as the Strauss Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kazakhstan Symphony Orchestra, and the North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. As a pianist, he has performed in prestigious venues and festivals, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Palacio de Foz in Lisbon, the Wiener Konzerthaus, and the Palais des Académies in Brussels. A versatile artist, he integrates all these facets into a single identity, embodying the spirit of a "total musician" from a bygone era.
