Italian cellist of Croatian origin, she ranks among the most acclaimed interpreters
of her generation. Following her victory at the international “Premio Stradivari-Roberto Caruana” competition in 1996, she has performed worldwide. She made her debut in 1992 with the RAI Milan Orchestra in Dvořák’s Concerto. She has appeared as soloist with the Orchestra da Camera Italiana, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the Filarmonici di Verona, the Insieme Strumentale della Scala, the Camerata Ducale di Vercelli, the I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani (in Japan), and the ICO Tito Schipa orchestra of Lecce under Salvatore Accardo’s direction. She has taken part in prestigious concert seasons, including Teatro alla Scala, San Carlo in Naples, Accademia Chigiana, Filarmonica Romana, Festival MITO, Ravello, and Società dei Concerti di Milano. She has collaborated with Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Giuranna, David Finckel, Isabelle Faust, Rainer Kussmaul, Massimo Quarta, Marco Rizzi, Wu Han, and Cynthia Phelps. In 2004, she founded Estrio with Laura Gorna and Laura Manzini.
She has recorded for Decca, Chandos, Denon, CPO, Fonè, Amadeus, and Trianvarius; in 2009, she recorded Vivaldi’s Double Concerto with Accardo. Since 2000, she has served as principal cellist of the Orchestra da Camera Italiana and held the same position at La Fenice in Venice, the Regio in Turin, San Carlo in Naples, Orchestra del Centenario Verdiano, and Fondazione Toscanini. She studied with Rocco Filippini, David Geringas, Mario Brunello, and William Pleeth. She plays a Bernardel from 1837.
She teaches at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Turin and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and has been cellist of the Quartetto Accardo since 2013.

He has performed concerts for important concert societies and associations
in numerous Italian cities. He has repeatedly performed piano and orchestra concerts with the Haydn Philharmonia Orchestra, the A. Stradella Orchestra, the S. Cecilia Conservatory Orchestra in Rome, the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, the Grosseto Symphony Orchestra, the Plovdiv-Trakia State Orchestra of Bulgaria, the Perugia and Umbria Orchestra, and RomaSinfonietta.
He has toured the United States (Farmington, Santa Fe, Durango,
Bryan, Houston, and College Station for Texas A&M University and University of Houston, and for the Texas Music Festival with recordings for KUHF), France in Paris (Conservatoire de Musique “M. Ravel”, Conservatoire de musique “E. Satie”, and F. Chopin center), Czechoslovakia, Germany (Berlin, Potsdam, Tecklenburg, and Nuremberg), Slovenia, and Japan. He currently teaches
at the “F. Morlacchi” Music Conservatory in Perugia. He is invited to give Masterclasses at Music Conservatories and advanced courses in various Italian cities, for the University of Houston, and for the Showa Musical Foundation (Japan), and serves on the jury of important national and international piano competitions. He graduated in piano with 10/10, honors, and Special Mention, under the guidance of M° Ennio Pastorino at the Reggio Emilia Music Conservatory. He subsequently attended the “Internationale
Sommerakademie Mozarteum” in Salzburg, performing in the Akademiekonzert, and in 1992 graduated from the S. Cecilia Academy in Rome with M° Sergio Perticaroli with highest honors, winning the scholarship offered by SIAE in Rome.
